Corporate National-level Giving
As a Canadian-owned company with clients spread across the country from Port Hardy, BC to St. John’s, Newfoundland, Payworks directs support to a select few national charitable organizations, including Ronald McDonald Houses of Canada.
Ronald McDonald Houses of Canada
Payworks and its employees have generously supported the important work of the Ronald McDonald Houses of Canada for several years, foregoing paper holiday cards each holiday season in lieu of sending an e-card and making an annual donation to all twelve Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada.
Ronald McDonald House provides short-term residential facilities for out-of-town families whose children are undergoing treatment for cancer or other life-threatening illnesses. Conveniently located close to the hospital, the houses are warm and welcoming.
Corporate Location-level Giving
Payworks allocates a large portion of its annual budget to support local charitable organizations in our respective communities. While we support local initiatives in all of the communities we are located in, we focus our charitable giving in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where the majority of our employees live and work, and the home of our National Service Centre.

In the vibrant performing arts tapestry in Winnipeg, PTE fills a unique and important niche: producing works, often new, with a focus on Manitoban and Canadian artists, which speak to the "non-arts" audience as strongly as to those who have always made theatre, dance, and symphony a part of their lives.
Manitoba Theatre for Young People has been creating and presenting professional theatre productions for children and families since 1982. MTYP has grown to become one of the most respected professional theatre companies in Canada for children and adults.
Based in Toronto, the Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People has provided a professional theatre and drama school for children for over 40 years. We believe the theatre we create for kids deserves every bit as much quality as that created for adults.

Employee-Initiated Giving and Volunteer Service
The Payworks community spirit of paying it forward has extended to the employee level, as our staff has embraced the support of important causes and many Payworks employees actively participate in fundraising initiatives including charity walk-a-thons, marathons, and even a moustache-growing competition. A few of the causes supported at the employee level in 2010 and 2011 include the CancerCare Manitoba Challenge for Life Walk, the Annual CN Tower Climb for WWF-Canada in Toronto, and the Movember fundraiser for Prostate Cancer Canada, in which fourteen of our employees collected funds and grew moustaches as a show of support in the month of November.
Our employees are also committed to supporting their community through annual donations to the United Way. These donations contributed through the employee campaign are matched by Payworks.
Employee-initiated giving extends to food drives and Christmas hampers in December. Payworks in Winnipeg supports a number of local shelters and food banks during the holiday season, and the generosity and participation of our employees is overwhelming. Payworks employees truly understand the benefits of paying it forward.
Business Development
Just as we believe it is important to contribute to the communities we live in by donating funds to charitable organizations, we also believe in strengthening our communities by participating in business development opportunities. Payworks supports small business and the entrepreneurial spirit, and we serve over 4,000 small business clients across Canada (that’s over two thirds of our client list). We are members of the Canadian Payroll Association, Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade across the country, and many of our upper management members are active players in the community, as they sit on various business development boards.
In business, Payworks is also a member of the following:
The Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association (CRFA) represents restaurant and foodservice operators across Canada and is an advocate and resource for its industry.
