We currently have an opportunity for a Human Resources Advisor (HR Advisor) working out of the Payworks National Service Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba and reporting to the HR Director.
The HR Advisor will participate in the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of new and existing HR policies, procedures, and processes. You will process internal payroll and be the primary administrator of the HRIS, providing operational support for effective talent management. You will be responsible for delivery of a full range of human resource services to our organization, including responding to internal Payroll and HR issues and questions from leaders and employees on the application and interpretation of HR processes, company policies, and current legislation.
YOUR KEY OBJECTIVES WILL INCLUDE:
- Process a multi provincial payroll using discretion and confidentiality. Process payroll in accordance with contractual, statutory, and legislative requirements in addition to company policy and procedure.
- Ensure organizational needs are achieved through the functionality of the HRIS. Safeguard the integrity of the HR data system, maintaining all information is up to date and accurate.
- Design, produce, and analyze regular and ad hoc reports from HRIS.
- Control the administration of benefits and pension plans, verifying the security, timeliness, and accuracy of all data. Process new enrolments, changes, terminations, and respond to employee inquiries.
- Plan and execute the overall new hire onboarding strategy. Facilitate the new hire experience, post-offer acceptance. Includes hiring logistics and onboarding processes.
- Participate in the application of occupational health and safety legislative standards and guidelines. Execute safety hazard recognition and mitigation along with risk analysis.
- Manage HR administration of workflow processes relating to recruitment, performance evaluation, compensation, and administrative changes to employee records.
QUALIFICATIONS
- You will have a PCP Certification and CHRP/CHRP Candidate designation or related studies and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- You have 1-3 years’ experience in a Payroll/Human Resources role, coupled with knowledge of relevant legislation and experience in the use of Payroll systems and HRIS.
- You have the verbal communication skills to communicate effectively, and the written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports.

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial management of organizational analysis and reconciliations, ensuring the overall integrity of the financial system. The Controller will provide leadership, direction, and support to the accounting team in support of business objectives. As a participative leader, the Controller will identify priorities and recommend appropriate solutions that support business needs while ensuring strong internal controls.
YOUR KEY OBJECTIVES WILL INCLUDE:
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing leadership and support while overseeing the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.
- Manage the financial budget and identify opportunities for ongoing cost reduction initiatives.
- Provide management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
- Participate in execution of the Strategic Plan and owner-operational efficiency objectives.

- The work requires a sound understanding of GAAP and associated concepts and working knowledge in Microsoft Office with a proficiency in Excel and Word along with experience using Sage Accpac.
- You will have managerial experience coupled with strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and excellent planning, team building and communication skills.

REQUIRED SKILLS
